Acknowledgements This year has been quite hectic with all the work involved in meeting deadlines throughout the year. It's been well worth it though! On behalf of the entire annual staff, we would like to thank the following people who have helped share our responsibilities: all former annual staff members, who contributed ideas and sold ads for usg Mr. Jim Saine, Delmer Printing Company Representative, for being so understanding about deadlines we missed, Mr. Dexter Street, for advising on photography development, the faculty, for putting up with all our homeroom announcements and allowing us to take care of crises during classes from time to timeg all our anonymous patrons, who were kind enough to send donationsg Mr. Jim Brown and Mrs. Sue Poe for supervising our fall bake sale, Mrs. Marsha Vanture for naming the yearbookg and especially our Sponsor, Mrs. Rachel Flanagan, for making the yearbook possible. We hope that you enjoy the first edition of The Sandtiddler and we thank you for your support. J an Howarth Mark Watson Co-Editors-in-Chief When I first examined our inexperienced staff, I wondered what might be accomplishedgnot one student had ever worked on a yearbook before! Very soon after, though, as we began to undertake the task before us, I gained confidence in the group that had assembled. The staff learned quickly, worked steadily, tried very hard to do a good job every time we met and we met often for long periods of time. In the course of the year, we were able to raise sufficient funds to cover a debt of thousands of dollarsg to develop film and print our own picturesg to use new methods for page designing and picture scalingg to handle many important business transactions, in sum, to utilize every bit of talent and skill to the maximum degree, even to learn to type! We are proud of our results and I am especially proud of my staff. I thank all editors and members for a commendable performance. A Mrs. Rachel Flanagan Annual Staff Advisor Developing a good yearbook for even an established school is an extremely difficult undertaking. De- veloping a good yearbook for a new school, filled with unfamiliar students, and staff members, causes the degree of difficulty to become several times greater. This was the task that Mrs. Flanagan and her annual staff members faced. This team of very determined people soon turned this nearly impossible task into a very successful reality. Yes, I am truly thankful to Mrs. Flanagan, and her staff for the birth of such a beautiful yearbookg one that we all at Lynnhaven Jr. High School can truly be proud of! Mr. B. E. Morgan Ill Principal 128
