Class Hlslnry As I look back on that mormng rn September l954 I recall a group of meek but eager students sophomores mmd you wa1t1ng at the threshold of good old LEI-IS We were exctted but as most classes do we settled down and started another year of stu dyrng Of course 1t wasnt a year of total studyrng Many of the boys went out for football and made the team George Lundstedt and Frank Launno were elected to play wrth the varstty whrle several others played along the I V lme We were also well repre sented on the basketball and hockey teams Our sophomore g1rls also were ac trve around the school On the cheermg squad we were well represented by Roseanne Cronrn Sandy Daye Debbre Campbell and Barb Panner There was also the T Q P Club whlch many of the sophomore grrl were mvrted to 1o1n Karen Issacson became secretary whtle lanet Breed and Mary Harrlgan were on the pro gram commtttee We also elected home room repre Councrl members Speakmg of Student Counctl do you remember BEANIE DAY 'P The Thesprans m our sophomore year presented TI-IE KNAVE OE HEARTS Included tn the cast were Don McInt1re Pat Meara Mtchael Katz Iudy lohnson Brll Rando Ianet Upton and others Our offrcers rn that year were Ste phen Prtce presrdent I-lenrretta Men kes v1ce pres1dent Roseanne Cronm secretary Len Selsky treasurer Dtck Kourtz and Iudy Nygren executrves Almost comcldmg w1th the begtnn mg of our 1un1or year came the all school play GOOD NEWS a gay muslcal of the roarmg twentres R present1ng our honored Class among the talented leads were Don Mclnt re Wlllard Van de Bogart Phyll1s Moran loel Sherman Oscar Arslaman and Chester Fuller Lrnda Boss and lanet Upton asslsted ID danc1ng and smgtng Twenty three 1un1or gtrls comprtsed the spnghtly Peace Prpe dancers wtth Tommy Nokes and Stephen Prtce at the prano We must not fatl to mentron our Class offrcers as follows presrdent Oscar Arslaman vlce prestdent Ga1l Bemholm secrtary Sally Murphy treasurer Davld Sm1th and execu tlves Martha Downes and Ianet Brown Bemg well represented on the ath letrc t1elds our class held tts head htgh as our teams zoomed on to many VIC tortes sparked by the br1ll1ant playmg of Trppy Iohnson George Lundstedt Frank Laurmo Vrn larvts Topper Oumlan and Iunror Howard on thetr respectrve teams A wonderful evenrng was had by all who attended our Iuntor Dance where ludy Eagan and B1ll Mahoney were chosen as Kmg and Queen Cheermg us through a tremendous year atttred 1n thetr new red and gray untforms were Sandy Daye Iudy Eagan Barb Panner Roseanne Crontn Ioan Beld Mo McKeown and Carol Forbes peared the baseball golf and track teams all of whlch en1oyed wmmng seasons Thus ended our Junror year It seems almost unbelrevable but we frnally reached the clrmax of our school days Agaln leadrng our class were Oscar Arslaman ludy Eagan Carol Forbes Don Mclnttre Mo M Keown and Bruce Stewart Wrh George Lundstedt and Frank Laurmo as co captatns of the football team the Bulldogs rolled to many vtc torres In basketball we took the Essex County champronshrp wtth the out standrng playrng of the sentor mem bers of the squad Congratulattons to co capta1ns Dave Dufour and Vtn Iar VIS' The hockey season proved to be tremendous to say the least Captur tna ftrst the North Shore and then the State t1tles plus numerous other hon ors the team swept on to the New England play offs where they played a tremendous game but were defeat CCont1nued on Pgae 86D I , , , I ' , I I . . .
