' ' ' A , I I , T . . , , Band The Lynn Public Schools Senior Band under tfie direction of Mr. Mazur completed in March of l957 a fourfday trip to Mepham High S hools at Bellmore Long lsland New York in order to participate in a Joint concert We brought with us a team of musicians we could all be proud of The Band has on many occasions received a Division One ratina wh ch is one of the highest merits a musical group can receive The marching Band has always strived for snap and precision on tne Stadium floor Gur formations on the field varied from tfie latest in dance steps and lndian tepees to our traditional E H S formation and our tune Boll on you Bulldogs' Organizations which have branched out from the band either as separate units by the members or under Mr Ma4ur s supervision are the Lynn Band Brass Ensemble which played Chrismas Carols around the City of Lynn and the two dance bands organized separately Tne Serenaders who have played at several dances at English High and the Horizons made up mostly ot the Band members The graduating members of the Band are Carlene Porter Carol Dow Arlene OConnor Sandra Moses Barbara Wine Richard Aucone Lawrence DAngelo Gregory Prentiss Carl Hampe Paul Stevens Robert Lewis and Sidney Knowlton TIQIP As you know the T Q P is a girls literary society unde tcie excellent leadership of Miss Peck Our meet ngs are held the first and third Tuesdays of every month and we have very interesting programs each time ln October we 'ook a trip to see the third production of Cmerama in Boston At each ot our meetings we first have a snort business meeting followed by our program All entertainment is completely voluntary consisting of book reviews short story readings skits and occasionally movies lt our meeting date happ ned to fall on or near a holiday we had a party At Christmas time me refresh ments were delicious Tnis year we cfiose blue and silver as our T Q P colors Mary Harrigan and Kathleen Curtin two senior officers and all other officers and members have given wonde ful support through out t'1e year Good luck to the lower classmen and espec ally to the senior members Pati Oy lean DePerrior Lillian Morgenstern Marion Germain Barbara Wine Sandra Peterson and ludy Balkus ludy Hossack , 1 1- 1 ,- , , L N4 - K, ri . . . Many sophomores, juniors, and seniors who had no previous experience in track came out for the team.
