Toward the end of ths year came the Iumor Dance The theme chosen by everyone was Parls ln Sprlng Some students labored long and hard up ln the art department over the beau t1ful decorat1ons Wh1le others of a more executlve nature arranged the part1c ulars of the May dance For weeks ahead the brg event was the most 1m portant top1c of conversatfon Dresses corsages flnances and where do we go afterwards were promment 1n most d1scuss1ons In the course of the even mg the Klng and Queen Wflham Car roll and Betty Ann Barry were crowned At a suftably late hour amfd yawns and goodmghts a brg event faded avl ay 1nto another memory At the end of our 1un1or year we aga1n held elect1ons Chosen for our senlor class offfcers were Peter Tobm Mary lane Eagan Blchard Tobln and Iudr Hor New offrcers elected were the popular Luc1lle Qumlan as v1ce pres1dent and Gall Andraln an act1ve g1rl as executfve As our sen or year started we began the productlon of the hllarfous Moss and Hart comedy You Cant Take It W1th You Afded by the stage crew and thefr adult ad vlsors many thesp1ans from Llttle Wo men and some new actors and actre ses lncludmg Sdndra Osborne Mary Grady Berme Bybmskx lfmmy De Ee hce ferry Onos D1ck Tobm Boy Adler Kenneth Barr Morton Sllver and Phtl Gallagher gave ffne performances Gur semor sports fncluded mostly the athletes prev1ously mentfoned from the junlor year A successful season rn football culmlnated m an assembly durlng whlch awards were g1ven to George Durfee lack Galloway Marlo Carraba Dav1d Gosse Norman Ellls Francls Cooney Leonard Bradley Ken neth Barr and Elmer Wrlltams ln our senlor year captalns leadmg the teams to many successful games were Davfd Gosse tn football Ph1l Gallagher 1n basketball lack Galloway and Buddy Brown 1n hockey B1lly Hyde 1n base ball and Lloyd OBr1en and George Durfee 1n track All our athlet1c ven tures were 1nsp1red by the peppy and attract1ve cheerleaders Those on the squad for two years were Martlyn Douglas Pat Wescott and Barbara Lord co captalns and Marllyn Matt hews Ga1l Comfort Elame Madell Iudv Edmunds and Betty Ann Barry Io Cole stands out as the only one year 54 cheerleader The Lynn Band also boasted some senfors lane Kellett Del ores Crow Helen P1cker1ng Ann Des mond and Carol Greenlaw All through our careers here 1n hfgh schcol we have partlclpated 1n clubs and some other act1v1t1es not prev1ously ment1oned A Very lmportant act1v1ty mvolvmg many students has been the Red and Gray Some have wntten col umns edltorlals and short sto r1e s whfle others have supplled the maga zlne w1th poems humor cartoons and photographs The llterary art and pho tography staffs and the co edftors Bet ty Chaggarls and Carleton Varney have passed Judgment on th1s mater 1al The magazme has been supported f1nanc1ally by the actlve salesm n and saleswomen of the advert1s1ng staff and by the home room representatfves All these students have worked together under the1r respectlve advlsors to pro duce the magazlne wh1ch has adm1r ably reported all the school events Many other school clubs were fav the Home Economlcs club two prom 1nent homemakers are Ruth Corton and Barbara Parsons In T Q P Cynthla Wflllams wa the chlef executlve and Eleanor Connolly Barbara Tatham and Beverly Tatham were members of the program comm1ttee ln the Forum lacob Segal was the vfce pres dent Ph1l1p Levfne the secretary and Har vey Flshman treasurer 54 ers 1n the Art Club lncluded Carolyn Larson lud1 l-lor Loulse Bablne Pat Ellls Sandra Poole and Carleton Varney Chfef pro ject on1sts were Ralph Cash and Paul C1arlett1 Many of 54 helped also to make up the Chorus and Glee Clubs ln the busy Iune of our sen1or year we celebrated our leave taklng at Class Day and at the Banquet The event rece1v1ng most attentlon IS of course the Semor Prom We danced and d ned and chmaxed our three busy years at Enghsh wfth a most memor able evenlng Then on Iune ll 1954 We off1c1ally tore ourselves away from thrs spectal 1nst1tut1on of learnmg to go our separate ways ludy Adelman 1 . , ' - I I - A , . - - - .
