A Message from President Clive C. Veri . . . Lyndon State College had a humble beginning — not at the modern campus we know today — but in a single loom tucked away somewhere in a Lyndon Institute building. Our charter students either commuted by horse and buggy from home or boarded with Lyndonville friends of their Northeast Kingdom families. Some lived in the Sanborn House, an L.l. dormitory that was demolished in front of our 1987 eyes to make way for an athletic facility. Lyndon reached its teen-age years in the 1960's with the establishment of a liberal arts program, and maturity as a comprehensive college was reached in the 1970's and early 1980's with the creation of several new career-oriented programs. A student can major today in 36 undergraduate concentrations and 6 graduate concentrations, in a far different institution than our forebears knew. It is no wonder that Lyndon has three different generations of alumni — those who knew only L.l. as their campus, those who knew Old Vail, and those of you who know only the L.S.C. of today. The common thread that binds all alumni together, however, is a search for the Good Life through a college education. As a result of your Lyndon experience, you have an excellent start m that search. I. and indeed the staff and faculty mentors you leave behind, wish you 2 Godspeed
