FACULTY As you leave Lyndon you take with you certain mementos of your college experiences. Among these arc your Bachelor of Science degree certified by the Board of Vermont State Colleges; a transcript of your grades certified by the Dean of the College; and a cumulative point average determined by the Recorder and verified by the Academic Standards Committee. The most sig- nificant memento, however, is neither of these. Rather it is the knowledge you have acquired in your years at Lyndon—through your course work, in the library, and from the extra-curricular functions. A college faculty has pretensions in believing that they were principally re- sponsible for this acquisition of knowledge. In this respect, the faculty at Lyndon is no different than any other. Furthermore, we hope that you have learned not only the facts and techniques that make up so much of your education—we hope that you have also de- veloped the wisdom to apply your education in your future lives. And we hope that by our examples, in- adequate though at times they may have been, we have instilled in you a moral commitment to educate others.
