The persistent march of fifty years has shown the gradual evolution of our insti- tution of higher learning. When one looks at the material advancement of the college, it is possible to graphically ob- serve the growth of our alma mater. From its birth in a Lyndon Institute build- ing at the foot of the hill to Vail Manor at the top of the hill and on to the pro- posed centralization at Darling Mansion on the Burklyn Campus, the physical plant of the college has moved to higher levels. Paralleling this has been the ex- pansion of the college curriculum from a two-year normal school program to a four-year teacher training institution and the introduction of a liberal arts program. The history of the past year as depicted within these covers represents but one chapter in the never ceasing march of time bringing its inevitable changes. May our alma mater continue to grow and move ever upward in its quest for aca- demic and intellectual achievement. 2
