Foreword Sifting through the sands of time, education surges upward as a volcano. Infinitesimal heights subside and en- compass each little grain only to create stirrings of intellectual curiosity and probing. We rise above mere existence and revel in our funds of knowledge, pouring forth to all who can survive the molten flood the benefits of man- kind. The seeds of sand will spread only as the world spreads; but, the omni- present volcano must follow the earthen path of wisdom.

 1961 Verlyn Dedicated MOTHER IZELLA WISHART The Senior Class of LTC proudly bestows its honor upon our beloved housemother who is affectionately known as “Mother.” Mother Wis- hart has served not only in her official capacity but also that of parent, seamstress, a loyal supporter of this institution, and many other volun- teer services. Her cheerful disposition and smiling face will long be remembered by her many friends and all of her “sons and daughters' at LTC. 4
