The Spring concert accents the lighter side of music. In 195 5, an originally compiled musical show entitled International Holiday was pre- sented at the college and for the legislators in Montpelier. This program was embellished with costumes and colored spotlights. Dances and pantomime were included. A new musical production, using hit tunes from the musical shows of the past half century, is being planned for the Spring concert of 1954. Activities for the past year have includ- ed a one-act play. Grandma Pulls the Strings. which was used as the Dramatic Club's contribution to the general assemblies. The major project of the year was the production of Over 21.” a famous Broad- way 3-act play. This play was presented to the entire school as well as to the public, who look forward to coming to L. T. C. plays each spring. The dramatics group has certainly had a very pleasant year with many visits to Mrs. Hoffman's house making the evening meet- ings well worth while for business and pleasure. Meetings were planned to include refreshments and entertainment which always lend an attraction to members. The name was chosen by the members of the staff and accepted by the student body. In the course of a few months the Lyn-News grew from an unorgan- ized and inferior newspaper to become the well organized and highly popular campus newspaper. Through the guidance of more experienced leaders and advisors and through the increased cooperation of the student body in the past few months: the newspaper has proved itself to be a worthwhile and appreciat- ed student activity. The Lyn-News consists of such popular articles as the Inquiring Re- porter. This and That, and Student of the Week, other articles include sports write-ups. news items, editorials, and announcements. Illustrated covers and cartoons add much to the popularity of the paper.
