There it stands on the campus green Red and white and so serene Welcoming students far and wide Bearing the name good old L.L The people who passed through the big green door To enter the world to seek for more Will look back and proudly sigh Saying, I once went to old L. I. The football games that we went to You can't win them, they'd say to you But remember most of all, says I You're always backed by old L. I. And when I've finished here at school I will make it as a rule To look back and proudly sigh I once went to old L.I. Suzanne Legge GOOD OL' L.I. 'Good ol' L.L that's what you hear everyone say, But we little freshmen all dreaded that first day, We tried to be calm as went on our way, But finding our way was the hard part of the day, Sometimes we think so, even today. The teachers were patient and gave us a lift, But all we little freshmen were still in the mist. We struggled through Latin, Algebra, English and Science, Then we all prayed we would come out in the balance. Yesl Good ol' L.I. And sometimes what a lament, But a freshman just can't repent. Mary Spencer L.I. FRESHMEN To L. I. we came the first year, Telling ourselves there's nought to fear Everyone looked forward to Freshman Day: Newcomers to do what upperclassmen say The next night came the Freshman dance Which turned out well by a good chance. The Barber Shop Quartet did sing Some songs which made the rafters ring Now that we have gone through one ordeal L. I. is tops we Freshmen feel. Valerie Dexter F - is for the faculty who helped us along R - is for ready to start out strong E - is for effort, willing to try S - is for sports at dear old L.I. H - is for help we all give each other M - is for our marks, a disgrace say our mothers A - is for our aims, may we all reach our goals N - is nobleness in each and everyone's souls. Philip Heath
