LIFE AT L. I, Two years ago we once began To L.I. 's bridge of knowledge span, Two years of work and fun and sports, Of themes and essays and reports, As Freshmen, we were rather lost. By Uppetclassmen, we were bossed. Next year we knew our way around, As Juniors, it's familiar ground. We've tried to be good students here In each and every single year, We've sometimes found it hard, 'tis true To hand in homework when it's due. In Science, Literature and Art, We've studied only just a part Of all the knowledge we can gain. We'1l find that none of it 's in vain. Next year we'll leave the Institute, Good friends we've made along the route Sweet memories we will always hold To think back on, when we 've grown old. David Ross 1 SCHOOL DAYS Once I was a Freshman All alone and blue, Getting lost my first day here Not knowing what to do. Then I was a sophomore. I thought I knew more then. But, I wasn't as smart as I thought For I got lost all over again. The year I became a junior, I was no longer a youth, But soon I found it otherwise, And had to face the truth. I'm still just a junior, But I look up to my mates. I do so love the seniors, For they 've got what it takes. Vera Hall
