SENIOR PLAY The Senior class of 1957 presented a comedy-fantasy play called Green Valley. This play was about a valley situated in the hills of California. Eldon Berry, played by Bill Rundall, owned this valley and farmed on it. This valley is strange because of the way things grow. The vegetables are huge and the milk glows! This bothers Eldon, but he keeps on planing and harvesting. A greedy land owner by the name of Everheel, played by Dick Legge, has build a dam at the end of Eldon's valley. He is driving all of Eldon's friends out of the valley. He is also trying to steal Eldon's land. Eldon is unaware of this, even when his girlfriend, Prim Stokes, played by Carolyn Randall, tries to have him fight for his land. Eldon's ancestors have come back from the dead and they try to help him. Grampa Berry, played by Dayton Wakefield, was a prospector and that was why he came to California and brought his wife, Grandma, played by Andi di Stefano. Some of the ghosts were Zeb, played by Robert Leblanc, Calhoun Berry, James Jacksong Ransome Berry, Bill Amidon, and the family witch, Prudence, played by Gerti Van Mourik. Others that made up the ghose scene were Clinton Gale, Paul Blake, Norma True, Margaret Calcagni, and David Fifield, A love affair arose between Martha Mears, Randy Huhn, the young woman from the Historical Society who checked Mr. Everheel's leases on Freen Valley, and Tinker Smith, played by Ronald Ducham, a perplexed tractor driver for Mr. Everheel, The settlers who had to move because of a blown- up dam are Ruff Thomas, played by Robert Bass and his wife, Sarah, played by Martha Howe. Also there are Hip Cooley, John Guayg and his wife, Mamie, Betsy King and Shade Stokes, Ed Buschmann, Prim's father. For the success of this play, we gratefully thank our fine director, Miss Jean True and her assistant, Miss Lucille Mackler. Many thanks goes to Miss Koury for the fine settings. f A 57 if Q
