,. .psi u 5 'Y We, the annual staff of 1957, wish to dedicate The Aquila' to our superintendent, Mr. Burris and our principal, Mr. Ross. Anyone in school needing an encouraging word or a bit of advice can feel free to go to either, and you may rest assured that he or she will come away satisfied. It is through their untiring efforts that our school operates so smoothly. The students of our school are indeed for- tunate to have the services of two such fine gentlemen. C. A. , I f!lH5?zWE4f0fVf1f f4lfCC46! The time has come to again congratulate the annual staff and your fine sponsor for another job well done. Few people realize the extent of such an undertaking and the possibilities for such an undertaking and the possibilities for worthwhile training and difficulties that it affords. So to the students, parents, teachers and other patrons of our community--let us be reminded that schools are worth just as much as the difference being made in the lives of our students. Moral and spiritual values are the foundation of all true education. Factual information plays a part, of course, but the principles remain long after the facts have passed the point of recall. Aside fromthe facts that teachers and often parents must organize and teach sometimes under rather difficultcircumstances, they must show the broadmindedness of a capable minister and the 'patience of Jobe . Even then they may expect a fair share of criticism fboth just and unjustj. Some degree of dissatisfaction is necessary before progress can be expected. So, lets not find a fault but a remedy . A good teacher knows that a kind or tactful word will oftentimes produce greater healing than medication, buton the other hand it becomes necessary at times to look with disfavor and even register distaste or use measures to convince students that such things are not accept- able conduct for schools or society. Our school memories should always be cherished. We should all continue to look with pride on our schools and strive to help them be deserving of this sincere pride by making them bigger and better as years come and go. to go
