The monThs sped by as we, under The direcTion of Mrs. MacLean, our sponsor. planned our evenfs. ThaT year we eIec+ed our firsT class officers: Alan Schroeder, presidenfp Mary Ellen l-lallisey, vice-presidenT: Dorofhy RubineTTi, secreTaryg and Paul Res- Taino, Treasurer. And, many of us will never forgef The fun we had in The old gym aT our dance, Rudy's Rumpus. Yes, Freshman year was fun, and filled wiTh The ioys ol being in high school, buT all Too soon iT came To a close. Sophomore year was The year'of The Greaf Divide. While some of us rose aT dawn, oThers walked home in The moon- ligh-T, Thanks To The spliT session. Our class officers, Mike Tirone, presidenT: STeve Cerefice, vice-president Connie CosTa, secrefary: and John Servidio, Treasurer, worked along wiTh our new sponsor, Then Miss CanTasano To uniTe our class wiTh acTiviTies, IT was This desire To bring The class TogeTher which inspired our Sophomore Class Picnic, held on June 22, I959 aT Fairlawn Beach. Bad weaTher could noT dampen our spiriTs. as we closed our sophomore year on a happy noTe. Suddenly we were upperclassmenl As iuniors, we elecfed Mary Ellen Hallisey, presidenTg Alan Schroeder, vice-presi- denT: Valerie RoberTella, secreTaryp and Gary Rinaldi, Treasurer. MosT of us will never forgeT ThaT wonderful nighT, BuT Junior year was soon over, and we wiped The lasT of The sTars ouT of our eyes To find we were seniors. The besT. On November I8Th and I9Th, we proudly presenfed our Senior Play. The l-lappiesT Years, which for us were soon To end, We Turned our efforfs To oTher Things-our fuTure. We Tried desperaTely To geT inTo college or geT ThaT iob, and The monThs vanished, All Too soon, wiTh damp eye- lids, we danced aT our Senior Farewell Dance. June came. more quickly Than June had ever come before, and aT Maz- dabrook Farms we held our Senior BanqueT, which was fol- lowed by our Graduafion Day. Sadly, we donned our caps and gowns, and waiTed To move our Tassels from lefT To righT, Thus marking The end of The hisTory of The class of I96I, buT marking also The beginning of undiscovered horizons.
