I had better not choke! VOLLEYBALL 1980-81 Our team, consisting of eight seniors, two juniors and one freshman, had a successful season this year. For starters, the team tied for second in county, continued on to place second behind Langley at district and therefore, became the first Lynden girls’ team to compete on the State level. We will always remember: coming from behind to defeat Nooksack, playing for the district championship, going to state, and sitting in the hotel’s jacuzzi until our skin started to shrivel. We would like to forget: the seven hour bus trip to Kennewick, the final match against Blaine, Turf’s five- minutes of fun, and the last match for the seniors on the team. Thank you; Ms. Fenton who coached us through thick and thin, Ms. McInturff for giving advice when asked upon, Mr. Vannice, who let the team stay an extra night at state and the administration and student body who supported US.
