Superintendent Mr. Ben Boxum A word to the wise. . . All the Flowers of all our Tomorrows are in the Seeds of Today. That's a futuristic statement. It is a statement implying hope. It is a statement that hints at necessary action if there are to be flowers at all. Seeds possess potential. One could say of an acorn in his hand, I am holding a potential stately and rugged oak tree. That small seed can become that mighty tree under proper growing conditions and care. God, in Genesis 1:11-12 puts it clearly when He announced into existence plants each bearing seed according to their own kind. Isn't that tremendous when you think about it? A marigold flowers beautifully and produces seeds so more marigolds will grow the following year. The same is true of every flower. Sad but true, however, the same can be said of weeds. All the weeds of tomorrow are in the seeds of today. The origin of that is also found in Genesis at Chapter 3:18. From a beautiful garden to a thorny weed patch. Isn't that sad? In ''people'! terms, this lovely statement about tomorrow's flowers says to each one that God made you with potential to become something - either a beautiful flower to bloom, grow, and glorify Him in His Kingdom, or a weed that serves the Kingdom of Satan and chokes out, and destroys that which is God glorifying. The difference is in the gardener. If Christ is your Savior, He also is your gardener and He will prune and cultivate you into a choice flower for a Heavenly bouquet. If Satan is your gardener he will prune and cultivate you into such a poisonous weed that at the end of your life there will be only one thing left to be done and that will be to be uprooted and destroyed forever. Lynden Christian school has, by God's grace, through many different persons and methods prayerfully tried to cultivate you into an image of Christ, the Rose of Sharon. You must trust Him totally to blossom beautifully throughout your life and into eternity. The potential is there. Respectfully in Christ, Ben Boxum = . .1s sufficient.

Principal Mr. Garris Timmer Dear Mr. Timmer, Lynden Christian has been an integral part of your life for 36 years. The first 12 of these years you were a student and receiving what Lynden Christian had to offer. The remaining 24 years were years of giving to Lynden Christian as a teacher, coach, and administrator. Your teaching hours in the chemistry-physics classroom, your patient guiding hours as a principal have left their impact with students and colleagues alike. These hours of giving have left a lasting impact because they were based ona deep rooted conviction that ''in all things He should have pre-eminence ! and therefore Christian Education is a vital means of ''training up a child in the way he should go!'. { i i We're confident that these 24 years of giving were also gratifying years of receiving for you as you observed the physical, intellectual, and spiritual growth of hundreds of young people. And we trust as you follow the Lord's leading in new areas, you'll always remember this part of your life as having been a fulfilling way to serve the Lord. Please consider this letter as a thank-you from all your present and former students and colleagues. i 3 | School Board Yours in Christ, The Annual Staff STANDING: Dennis Gross, Ben Boxum, John Hoksbergen, Arlyn Plagerman, Ed Henken, Wayne Brink, Glen Terpstra.
