As the time sped by, each individual gathered bits and pieces of the glorious memories of his own special high school years. These pages hold some of the laughter, the tears, the joys, and the sorrows of the year 1971. They are a collection of thoughts, pictures, and mem- ories to be reminised over through the passing ages. Although there is no specific theme to this years EXCELSIOR we have more or less tried to “Tell It Like It Is.’ There is a prevailing tone of the unity given to us by Christ. Each person, while retaining his individuality, has contributed some more than others to leaving his special mark on the lives of others. Each person has a responsi- bility to himself, his fellow man, and to his God. As was stated by John Donne, “‘No man is an island entirely of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main...Any man’s death diminishes me, because I am involved in man- kind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.”
