Mixer — Twirp Week New Ideas at [Ge hles: Not all was books and study this past year. Freshmen were the star attraction as under- classmen, upperclassmen, and faculty were again scrambled together at the annual Mix- er. Time spent in anticipation was well-re- warded when students happily watched the frosh initiated into the mysteries of high school life. Games for all got everyone into the act during an enjoyable evening. The shoe was on the other foot during Twirp Week at Lynden Christian High. Girls were permitted to ask out that special boy they had had their eyes on while boys got a taste of waiting for a date. To give the girls a break, the student body provided entertain- ment at a party on the final night of the week.

11 What seemed an endless week of booster buttons, speeches, and skits fi- nally paid off for the four students who will be taking up their new student body offices. President Rick Holleman is now in charge of the gavel and assisted by vice-president, Wayne Kaemingk. As secretary, Cheryl Bode will record all the accomplishments of the student council while treasurer Kathy Heutink worries about its financial problems. A big thank-you goes to the officers of the ‘68- 69’ school year.

Mother’s Tea. Has a Iheme of “Spring Carousel” : | Smile now, pivot, a few more steps, and out the door. Another model sighed with relief as she left the long ramp stretched out in the chapel. This was the annual Mother’s Tea, under the theme of ‘Spring Carousel’’ given each year by the girls of the Home Economic classes with the freshmen providing the re- freshments. Judy Timmer and Brenda Kooy narrated as the girls modeled the different clothes they had sewed themselves. A few special numbers and a sa- lute to the mothers and daughters completed the evening. 13
