Foreword Time-God's Gift, Man's Responsibility-The theme for our 1968 Excelsior relates to the words of Solomon in Ecclesiastes 3:1 For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven. The amount of time we devote to any given purpose depends on the importance of that purpose in our lives. These differing amounts of time are symbolized on our cover and division pages by various size picture and copy blocks. For a Christian there is no purpose apart from God's will for man. The goal of the Excelsior staff has been to give you a book of memories representative of your school year-memories of how you used your time, memories of how you were instructed, coun- seled, and guided that, regardless of the activity, time is God's gift and man's respon- sibility to use for His glory: memories that in the years to come will give you an even greater appreciation for your time of Chris- tian education-your time of learning that for everything there is a season and a time for every purpose under heaven.
