Starken- Many, varied, and pleasant were the tasks of the 1964 L.C.H. Student Council. Possibly this year was not so very different from past years for many, but for us it was, for we felt the res- ponsibility of representing all of the students at Lynden Christian. The usual events-the Mixer, the selling of student body cards, the chapel committees, the election of next year’s officers and cheer leaders, the awards assembly--were all a part of our work. We initiated a drama assembly in which the classes compete for a trophy and we worked closely with the L’’ Club in the Pancake Day OFFICERS: L. Vander Giessen, Sec.; R. De Jong, Pres.; STUDENT COUNCIL to earn money for the new football team. But beyond this we will remember special things. We will remember the opportunity we had to actively ‘ bear ye one another’s burdens”’ when we took a collection for the fire-razed Pella Christian School, and we will remember the chance we had to witness when we hosted the IntereHigh Council and discussed problems pertinent to all high school students. Although fond memories may linger, the days and years spent there are history and cannot be retraced. Graduates, you are living in a day and age of opportunities, but also of temptations. You will be called upon to make decisions. You stand at an important cross-road and our hope for you is that these decisions will be wise ones which reflect the education, the convictions, and the blessings you received by attending this God-centered school.
