The function of student council, as I see it, is to interpret the needs and desires of the stu- dent body. To accomplish this end we have initiated several projects. Our regular activities included the presentation of many assemblies, the forma- tion of a chapel committee, and the awarding of many ‘ ‘L’s’’ at the year’s end. Early in the year we sponsored a travelogue entitled ‘‘Holland”’ to raise funds. Other than this we continued the improvements of the gym, which were begun last year, by pur- chasing new glass backboards and seats, and by changing the scorekeepers platform. We also purchased new basketball suits for the team. This year we have had the new experience of entertaining Interhigh council. This was very rewarding for it afforded us the opportunity to discuss mutual problems. Thank you for all your cooperation. Jim Wynstra, President Student Council OFFICERS: Jim Wynstra, Presi- dent; Wayne Brink, Vice President; Cornelia Abrahamse, Secretary; Jerry Terpsma, Treasurer. STANDING: Duane Proppe, Janet Boxum, Marlys Smith, Jack Byeman, Dennis Van Andel, Colleen Haak, Dave Enfield, Jack Veltkamp, Clayton Libolt.
