Super intendent Dear Members of the Class of ’61, You are the end product of the fiftieth year of the operation of this school. You may wonder what your individual serial numbers might be. There are far more important considerations, however. This Golden Anniversary year is a year of evaluation. We evaluate the richness of the blessing of our heavenly Father. Buildings, busses and books, curricula and programs, soci- eties and organizations have been developed into a complicated mosaic called ‘‘school.’’ Class of ’61, join in the thanks we owe for these blessings. But you, the product of fifty years of Christian Education, are of more vital concern to us. Your graduation represents a climax not only in your lives, but in the life of Lynden Christian School. We congratulate you in this, and express our con- fidence that your lives will manifest worthiness of this distinction. However delightful childhood may be, the goal in life is toward maturity. Paul reasoned thus, that as he became a man, he must put away child- ish things. Our school is now of age; it must carry on as a mature Christian institution. You, too, are becoming of age. By the grace of God, seek to fulfill the goal of becoming mature Christians, graduated to responsible service in the Kingdom. Yours as ever in Christ, Mark Vander Ark
