STUDENT COUNCIL Guided by Student Body President Sid Kornelis and Faculty Advisors, Mr. Koops and Mr. Snapper, the Student Council again spent an active year directing the business attairs and activi- ties ot the student body. To begin the year the Student Council put on the annual Mixer to help the Freshmen and new students to become acquainted with the rest ot the students. To build up the treasury pledges were received trom the student body, with tree student body tickets being given to those who con- tributed. Rules governing assemblies were put out and a complete schedule ot assemblies was drawn up at the beginning ot the school year. Several special assemblies were also provided tor the students. . The Student Council was also again very active in the tield ot sports. Noon-hour intramural tootball, basketball, and sottball tournaments were held. They also aided the basketball teams by providing new shirts tor a tiner appearance, proper equipment tor a better game, and by putting on the annual yell and song leaders' election to promote school spirit. To help a worthwhile activity get started they cooperated with the Drama Club in sponsor' ing the debate teams. Reterence materials were provided and the expenses to the C. P. S. ln- vitational Forensics Tournament were paid. The Council deserves a word ot thanks tor their activities. and may they continue their work in years to come. t Seven
