The music was played by Mirage. The highlight of the evening was the last dance of last year's royal party and the crowning of Patti Dodge as Queen. Jay Wright as King. Jari Grimshaw and Susan Fournier as the Princesses, and John Middles- tate and Steve Strasser as the Princes. Refreshments were served to all during the intermission. PEPPUNCH, POWER The J.V. Cheerleaders started our pep rally off right with a Hello. Good Luck cheer. The cheerleaders and their advisor put in a lot of time and effort into their first pep rally to really make it special for our first game. Two skits were performed by the cheerleaders: one about our guys and the other about our cheerleaders. Individual cheers were performed by both J.V. and Var- sity cheerleaders. The players. J.V. and Varsity, were introduced along with their coaches in the beginning of the pep rally. Speeches were given by Mr. Zielinski and Mr. Weaver. The closing of the pep rally was performed by the Varsity cheerleaders. Many thanks to the spectators who added their cheers to the occasion, and a special thanks to Mr. Fiske who was our M.C. as well as our photographer. SPOR TS V. At midseason (and the time of this writing) the Lyme Indians are in a two-way tie for first place with Belleville: both with 7-1 records. Lyme's overall average is 7-3. The other two losses came at the hands of Indian River and South Jefferson at the Christmas Tournament held at J.C.C. in December. Coach Z stated, going into the tournament we knew the going would be tough. But we felt no matter what the outcome was. that by playing better competition, we would learn a lot more and that we would come out of it a better team for league competition, which is our primary goal. The excitement rose at the first Belleville game when Lyme completely dominated them on their own court and from then on it was no stopping the Lyme Indians. 0 SCORES Lyme 72 Sandy Creek 58 Lyme 39 Lafargeville 57 Lyme 83 Sackets 74 Lyme 80 Copenhagen 45 Lyme 56 Indian River 70 Lyme 58 South Jeff. 66 Lyme 61 Alex. JUNIOR VARSITY BASKETBALL Junior Varsity COACH — LYLE WEAVER Lyme’s Junior Varsity Basketball team completed the season with a 10-4 overall record and a 10-2 League record. They came in second place behind the LaFargeville squad. The only losses in the league came at the hands of LaFargeville over there and Belleville at home after a 2 week layoff. The highlights of the season were beating Belleville at Belleville and defeating LaFargeville in a hard fought overtime vic- tory at home. This year’s squad proved to be very unself- ish. Everyone did their own thing and con- tributed well. The starting team all averaged in double figures which proves that these young Indians were unselfish and team ori- ented.
