On the shores of Lake Ontario Stands our high school fair; Loyalty and truth her motto Green and gold wave there. Loyalty and truth and honor To the golden rule; Hail to thee, our alma mater; Hail! FIRST ROW: Carol Reff, Carolyn Goutremout, Nancy Phelps, Mary Yott, Jane Gosier, Mary Anne Mucklewee, Beverly Davis, Mrs. Walrath. SECOND ROW: Edward Ster- ling, David Eldridge, George Talbot, Phillip White, Schuyler Weaver, David Plato, Tommy Bourcy, Robert Gosier. () ass If storu It seems like only yesterday that the present senior class entered high school, 24 members strong. Mr. Mosseau was our class advisor, and our officers were: President. Nancy Phelps; Vice President, Carolyn Goutre- mout; Secretary-Treasurer, Edward Sterling. In our sophomore year, our advisor was Miss Lawson. We elected the following class officers: President, Schuyler Weaver; Vice President, Edward Sterling; Secretary, Jane Gosier; and Treasurer, Charlotte Shearman. During the year we made money for our senior trip by sponsoring a very suc- cessful magazine sale and a very profitable dance. At the beginning of our junior year we were all excited, knowing that we had only one more year to go after that one. That year Mrs. Wal- rath was our advisor, and our officers were: President, Thomas Bourcy; Vice President, Nancy Phelps; Secretary. David Plato; and Treasurer, Phillip White. We had a successful stationery sale, sold soft drinks and hot dogs at home basketball games, and presented two one-act plays, The Prettiest Girl in Town and Last Night’s Paper directed by Mr. Filmer. We also held the annual Junior Prom, with Schuyler Weaver and Nancy Phelps as King and Queen. This year we entered school very proud to be seniors and hoping that we would all graduate. Mrs. Walrath again had the honor of being our class advisor. We presented a three-act comedy entitled They Went Thataway and directed by Mr. Posello and Mr. Glenn. We sponsored the taking of the individual school pictures. We also held a dance. Our officers for this year have been: President, David Plato; Vice President, Schuyler Weaver; Secre- tary, Nancy Phelps; and Treasurer. Mary Ann Mucklewee. Of the present senior class members, 3 began school together in first grade: David Eldridge, Phillip White, and Nancy Phelps. In the seventh grade, Mary Ann Mucklewee, Thomas Bourcy, Carolyn Goutremout, and Mary Yott joined them from Three Mile Bay. The rest of us have joined throughout the years of grade and high school. Would you be interested to know some of the many students who have been with us at some time during our last four years? A few are: Glen West. Shirley Goodfriend, James Hardy, Marie Slate, Donald McDougall, Paul Gardner, Rodger Lane, Ralph Ramsey, William Eisile, Glyndon Brown, Pat Garrett, Marvel Bourcy. Sharon Bevens, Robert Greene, Susan Thompson. Charlotte Shearman, and Linda Thompson and Ruth Block. Basi (.) ane r. estainent We, the SENIOR CLASS OF 1959. of LYME CENTRAL SCHOOL of CHAU- MONT in the county of JEFFERSON and the state of NEW YORK, being of incompetent and unqualified mind, do make, publish, and declare this our last WILL and TESTAMENT in manner following, that is to say: FIRST: To our PRINCIPAL we leave two tons of used passes. To MRS. RIORDAN we leave an unused supply of paper clips, rubber bands, staples, scotch tape, rulers, and pencils, and a little peace and quiet. To the BUS DRIVERS we leave the possibility for them to concentrate on their driving without our interruptions. To the JANITORS we leave our mixed-up lockers, paper-filled desks, and just plain everyday messes. To the CAFETERIA STAFF we leave the pleasure of not having to put up with our gigantic appetites. To the JUNIORS we leave our title of Seniors and the problem of ac- quiring the privileges that never came our way. SECONDLY: I, TOM BOURCY, leave my ability to argue in Business Law class to Jimmy Garrett. I, BEVERLY DAVIS, leave my quiet nature to Robert Greene. I, MILDRED DAVIS, leave my explosive disposition to Jane Klock. I, DAVID DEAN, leave my guns and saddle to Preston Wiley so that he may drive on the J.V. basketball team next year. I, DAVID ELDRIDGE, leave my flat-top hair style to Stanley DA Ram- sey. 1, JANE GOSIER, leave my sljill in driving to Sherry Bourcy. I, ROBERT GOSIER, leave my good nature and disposition to whoever needs it most. I, CAROLYN GOUTREMOUT, leave my post on the scorer's bench to Gail Warner. I, MARY ANNE MUCKLEWEE, leave my ability to get into mischief to Cindy Phillips. I, NANCY PHELPS, leave my ability to get out of school to anybody who gets tired about 11 a.m. I, DAVID PLATO, leave my skill in doing mathematics to anyone who has 20 fingers. I, CAROL REFF, leave my attempts to sing alto to Audrey Yott. I, EDWARD STERLING, leave my technique in dancing to Dickie Schreiber. I, GEORGE TALBOT, leave my athletic ability to Allen Piche. I, SCHUYLER WEAVER, leave my basketball skill to Dave Peters. I, PHILLIP WHITE, leave all my hutnorisms to Rowland Talbot. I, MARY YOTT, leave my love for country music to Steve Foster. LASTLY, we hereby appoint Mr. Jack Beck, President of the Board of Education, as executor of this, our last Will and Testament, with full power and authority to sell and convey, lease, or mortgage real estate, hereby revoking all former wills made by us. CLASS OF 1959 Icfuice to e )en tors We advise TOM BOURCY to become a lawyer. He always was one to argue his point. We advise BEV DAVIS to get married. We think she would make a good housewife. We advise MILLIE DAVIS to keep driving the way she does now. Maybe some day she can become a female stock car driver. We advise DAVE DEAN to practice his draw. He may someday replace Chester on TV. We advise DAVE ELDRIDGE to keep working with his chemicals. He may become the first invader on the moon. We advise BOB GOSIER to join the Armed Forces. We think he would look handsome in uniform. We advise JANE GOSIER to stay the way she is now. She's doing all right. We advise CAROLYN GOUTREMOUT to continue keeping score. Some day she may become scorekeeper for the Nats. We advise MARY ANNE MUCKLEWEE to keep up her leadership. She may become the first lady president. We advise NANCY PHELPS to keep practicing her smile. Someday she may take Liberace's place. We advise DAVE PLATO to discover a new planet and name it Plato. We're getting tired of hearing of Pluto. We advise CAROL REFF to become a beautician, for some day she may even be able to give Elvis a new hair-do. We advise EDDIE STERLING to get the gleam out of his eyes. It may get him into trouble. We advise GEORGE TALBOT to be the first to put a TV in his car, since he has tried to install a record player. We advise SCHUYLER WEAVER to keep playing basketball. Some day he may become manager of the Texas Cowgirls. We advise PHIL WHITE to become a comedian. He surely has had enough practice. We advise MARY YOTT to join the WAVES so she can be closer to the Navy and her Navy man. Philosopher EDWARD STERLING as he is known by his readers, has just received his Golden Book for selling over 1.000.000 copies of The Future of the Class of '59. It reads thus: Always having argued his point in law class, TOM BOURCY entered the profession of law. He is now serving time for trying to save a blonde who was guilty of poisoning her husband. It seems she had promised Tom $10,000 to take her case. Tom never did know how to refuse a blonde. BEVERLY DAVIS opened a restaurant specializing in Italian food. She did so well that she has now gone into retirement at the age of 28. The last we heard, she was on her way to Florida. Don't forget to send us a card, Bev. MILDRED DAVIS, having envied her father's towing business, went into the business for herself. Her sign reads, You wreck ’em and crash ’em! We'll check 'em and stash 'em! But instead of checks and stashes, Millie wrecks and crashes. As we all know. DAVID DEAN was called Marshall Dillon all through high school. Well, Dave started his own Gunsmoke series and took Matt Dillon's place. The last we heard. Matt was out gunnin' Dave down. Professor DAVID ELDR1DGE, as he is called by his colleagues at Eldridge Engineering Institute of Rumki, Siberia, is now working on a new formula. How will he be able to tune in the Dick Clark Show on his electronic TV ? JANE GOSIER went to work for the Hershey Company of Chicago. We hear she gained over 30 pounds trying to bring in publicity. It's hard to believe, isn’t it? After three years with the New York Yankees, BOB GOSIER is in the hospital suffering from two broken legs, one broken arm, and a fractured skull. It seems Bob just couldn't stop that fly ball which drove him clear through the stadium. After receiving their nursing degrees, CAROLYN GOUTREMOUT and MARY ANNE MUCKLEWEE started to work on a secret formula. This medicine was supposed to prevent anyone from catching any kind of disease. At the present, both girls are in a women's detention home for causing the hospital to go into bankruptcy. It seems they drove all the business away. NANCY PHELPS is a famous writer. She became so fascinated by Shake- speare's plays that she started to write dramas in the same style, but with 20th century settings. Her version of Macbeth is very popular, especially the part where Macbeth gets rid of his enemies by sending them up in sat- ellites, never to return. After high school, DAVID PLATO became a disc jockey. Next he was dis- covered by a talent scout who decided Dave was a great singer. He has risen to fame with his record. The All Lyme Central Boy. We also hear that Dave has been drafted. We hope they don’t cut off his hair. CAROL REFF graduated from Miss Fluff's School of Beauty and started her own salon in New York City. We hear she is engaged to Oliver Vanderbilt VI. She says nothing or no one will come between her business and her. GEORGE TALBOT is a famous architect, specializing in remodeling resort areas. On one of his decorating sprees, he took over Schermerhorn Park and completely remodeled it. SCHUYLER WEAVER won fame and glory when he scored 330 points in one game for the New York Revengers Basketball team. He is now in the city jail serving time for blackmailing the ref. PHIL WHITE was named The Most Hazardous Hot Rodder of the Year. On one of his big ventures, he side-swiped 6 cars and took down 10 guard posts. He says he is very proud of this award and will try to do better next year. Having always liked western music, MARY YOTT decided to move out west and start a music dude ranch. She is also president of a movement to prove that Country Music's Here to Stay.” u(g$$0$ FIRST ROW: L. Barr, J. Garrett, J. Weiler, L. Pettey, B. Beck, F. Walker. SECOND ROW: E. Wilder, E. The Junior Class of 1958-1959, consisting of 23 members, has had a successful year. We have had our stationery sale and have sold refreshments at home basketball games. We presented 3 one-act plays entitled While the Toast Burned, I'll Die for Dear Old Rutgers, and Murder by Morning. We closed the year with the annual Junior Prom. Officers for the year have been: President - -- -- -- -- LESLIE COMINS Vice President ----- —STEVE FOSTER Secretary..............SUZANNE LYNCH Treasurer..............SUSAN RICHARDS Advisor................MISS SOUTHARD Ionice io tne r unions We advise LARRY AUSTIN to keep up his basketball. He might be another Adolph Schays. We advise BRENDA BALL to study science. Lady scientists are in demand. We advise LARRY BARR to go to bed nights so he can stay awake in Mr. Dodge's classes. We advise BILLY BECK to get a car of his own so his father won't have to bring him to school when he misses the bus. We advise SHARON BEVENS to take out an insurance policy to protect against future broken bones. We advise LESLIE COMINS to start a towing service; Leslie's Towing Ser- vice should do a lot of business. We advise STEVE FOSTER to keep up his winning personality. Many friends come in handy. We advise JIMMY GARRETT to move to Chaumont. He seems to appreci- ate the girls in our community. We advise ROBERT GREENE to grow a little more. Giants make a lot of money. We advise JOHN HENTZE to practice up on his trumpet. The band will need him next year. We advise GAIL HILLICK to keep up her good work in the office. She would make a very efficient secretary. We advise SUZANNE LYNCH to become a social worker. She's had practice in Youth Fellowship. We advise ELAINE NORTHROP to move off the Point. She's too far away from civilization. We advise DAVID PETERS to practice baseball. That good left arm is useful on first base. We advise LEO PETTEY to practice up on driving so he can take his father's place on the school bus. We advise SUSAN RICHARDS to continue cheering. She looks cute out there on the floor. We advise LINDA THOMPSON to organize her own hillbilly orchestra so she can compete with some of the existing ones. We advise FRED WALKER to start his own show patterned after Art Link- letter's People Are Funny. It would be a hit. We advise SANDRA WALLACE to become a cowgirl. She has had a lot of experience on a horse. We advise JOSEPH WE1LER to start his own TV Serial. As Ichabod, he would be a hit. We advise FAITH WARNER to become the first woman speaker of the House of Representatives. We're sure she would be capable. We advise ELIZABETH WILDER to become a disk jockey. We think she’d look good behind a turntable. We advise ANN YOTT to grow a little, so she won’t get lost in the crowded halls. cSop omore C ass FIRST ROW: M. Rogers, W. Weaver, G. Rogers. We finished in 2nd place as co-winners with Alex Bay. We had a 4 and 4 record, with an over-all season of 7 and 7. This group brought to LCS its first successful year since 1952, in that we received first place in the Jefferson County League Tournaments by defeating Lafargeville, league winners (8 wins and 0 defeats) and Alex Bay, co- league winners in 2nd place. In sectional play, this group is the first in the history of the school to win the Class D Division. Also, it is the first to compete in the C-D bracket in sectional play. A seasonal job well-done is conveyed to players, cheerleaders, and other interested followers of our teams from Coach West.
