“Calais Miitory In September, 195 2, 29 boys and girls entered the Freshman class of L.C.S. to begin their high school career. That year Mr. Keith was our class advisor; Ann Chavoustie, President; James West, Vice-Pres- ident; Carol Comins, Secretary; and Emelie Merchant, Treasurer. The first money that we earned for our class trip was by selling candy at the games and during our noon hours. We ended our year with a picnic at Cedar Point. In our Sophomore year, Mr. Grieco was our class advisor. Our class officers were James West, President; Yvonne Hamilton, Vice President; Rita Hewitt, Secretary Treasurer. Th9t year the class earned money by selling magazines. At the close of the year, we had a picnic at Cedar Point. When we returned to school in our Junior year, we elected Yvonne Ham- ilton, President; Fred Ross, Vice-President; Donna Mumford, Secretary and Emelie Merchant, Treasurer. That year Miss Southard was our class advisor. We had a very busy school term making money for cur Senior trip. The first project was selling stationery. All of the class took part in this activity, and it turned out to be a big suc- cess. Next came our Junior play, a 3-act comedy, Beauty and the Beef , with Mr. Graham Stone as our director. In June, we held our annual Junior Prom with the music of Harry Spicer and his orchestra. We ended this highly successful class year with a picnic with the Seniors at Cedar Point. Last fall we were Seniors. This was the year we all had been looking forward to, the year for our class trip to New York City! Miss Southard was our class advisor. We elected Fred Ross, President; Robert Dailey, Vice-President; John Peters, Secretary; and Emelie Merchant, Treasurer. Yvonne Hamilton was our representative to the Student Council. This year we held a magician show with the talented Mr. Russell as the magician. Then we had our Senior class play, Finders Creepers , directed by Miss Aldous. We also had several food sales and a talent show. Our class motto has been: Plan well for the future, for you will spend the rest of your life In it. Our class colors are blue and white, and the class flower is the American Beauty rose. It might be interesting to note that the present 20 members in the Senior Class have gone all through high school together. Donna Mum- ford, Roy Bevens, Bill Cuppernell, Bethel Brown, Rita Hewitt, Carol Comins, and Jim West all started first grade together in Chaumont, and Marvin Bourcy and Carolyn Herrick started first grade together in Three Mile Bay School. The following have been in our class at one time or another: Norman Gee, Charles 0«Connor, Danny Warner, Marlene Wilkie, Elmar Freytag, Arlene Goodrich, Shirley Daniels, Claude Davis, Eddie Herrick, Jeanette Jackson, Rosemary Klock, Douglas Reome, Alan Paro, Lester Scales, and Robert Goodfriend.
