wniiW jjft IKE We would like to dedicate this book to Ike Reed, our friend. Ike has been with the school for l f years. During our school years, when ever we needed some- thing, it’s always been Ask Ike —from the cleaner for Ink spilled in the hall to the right color of crepe paper for our prom decorations. We couldn't have man- aged without Ike Reed—we hope this will help him to remember us as well as we'll remember him. Sixteen of the Seniors who are graduating were members of the original Freshman class. Our class officers were Virgil Weaver as President; Harvey Hewitt as Vice-President; and Dorothy Haas as Secretary-Treasurer. Mr. Mein was our class advisor. Activities of the year were selling candy at noon hours and a picnic with the Sophomores at Long Point at the close of the year. Our Sophomore year went along smoothly with Dorothy Haas as President; Harvey Hewitt as Vice-President; Eliza- bet'' White as Secretary; June Brown as Treasurer; and Mr. Hill as our class advisor. Among our activities were a magazine sale, candy sales at ball games, a Hallowe'en party at the Annex, and at the close of the year, a picnic at Long Point. Our Junior year was a success with Donald Kiekett as president; Virgil Weaver as Vice-President; Joanne West as Secretary; Elizabeth White as Treasurer; and Miss Southard as our class advisor. Our activities consisted of selling stationery which we did exceptionally well, selling soft drinks at ball games, a talent show, the Junior Prom at which Donald and Elizabeth were King and Queen, and the Junior plays. It seems that our class was so big that we couldn’t get everybody in one play, so we picked four one-act plays so that everybody could participate. The plays were, The Brave Shall Serve , By Special Request , directed by Miss Southard; I Shall Be Waiting , and The New Bov , Directed by Mr. Stone, our music teacher. At the end of the year we went on a picnic at Cedar Point. Our Senior year opened with Richard Heasley as Presi- dent; June Brown as Vice-President; Elizabeth White as Secretary; Joanne West as Treasurer; Harvey Hewitt as Senior Representative to the Student Council; and Miss Southard as class advisor. On the l6th of November we held our Senior play, House of Horrors , directed by Miss Southard and Mp. Collins. At Hallowe'en we held a dance. We published The Ontarion , the annual yearbook. During the Easter vations we went on a four-day trip to New York. A picnic is being planned. It is interesting to know that Donald, Virgil, Hob, and Joanne all started school together twelve years ago and are, therefore, the only 0- from the group who have continued their school life together. CU We, the class of 1952, of Lyme Central School, being of sound mind and memory, and considering the uncertainty of this life, and intending to dispose of all our property, declare this to be our last will and testament hereby revoking all other wills and testaments. First: We leave our tables in the lunchroom to the Freshmen with the provision that they keep things as lively as we did. Second: We leave our homeroom to the Class of 195 ; may they have better luck in getting a clock and a buzzer than we did. I, Martin Bankroft, leave my beard to Larry Comins. I, Adelbert Brigham, leave my vitality to Ward Hallings. I, June Brown, leave my explosive disposition to Russell Weaver. I, Thomas Dunham, leave my catching gear to Mickey Quencer. I, Mary Lou WilkinsonT leave my place in the cheering squad to Emilie Merchant. lie make, Constitute, and Appoint Mr. Purcell, president of the Board of Education, executor of this, our last will and testament. In witness hereof, we hereunto subscribe our name and Dear Mr. Wright, In reply to your inquiry as to the whereabouts of the class of '52, we have uncovered the following information: June Brown, chief stewardess of Interplanetary Airlines, never knew what she was getting herself into three years ago when she said, I want to be a stewardess.” Now she is one of the main officers in the interplanetary circuit with Mars. General Dunham is now the name given Tom by one and all. Tommy entered Officers’ Training School after graduation, came out as a first lieutenant and soon worked his way up to Five-Star General. Dick Heaslev has attained world fame as an artist with his trumpet. A world-wide tour recently proved his prowess as a musician. Dick once was with Les Brown but now has his own orchestra. Guy Gosier is back! The newspapers are full of the reports that this great war hero, single-handed, wiped out six enemy machine gun nests Guy has been called home to receive the Congressional Medal of honor. Virgil Weaver, professor of advanced calculus at Princeton Univer- sity, has become known as one of the leading mathematicians in the U.S. Virg graduated with highest honors from Cornell and is acknow- ledged by Professor Einstein as a valuable aid in his research. Harvey Hewitt has been happily married for five years and he and Mrs. Hewitt have three lovely girls. Harvey has expanded his father’s farm and now owns most of Three Mile Point. Noah Prior has finally succeeded in growing his yearly crop in two months. He once grew two crops in a year, but that was nothing com- pared to his present feat. If Noah would market the fertilizer he made up by his own formula to get more from the land, it would be possible for everyone to grow his own food in a window box. lust married were Anne LaComb and the famous millionaire, Mr. Eurip- Ldes Organthorpe. Anne was his private secretary until very recent- ly when E.O. proposed. Anne quit her job but chose her successor herself. Adelbert Brigham shall henceforth be called '’Ace . The greatest jet ace in history, his record has astonished the nation. Asked to teach jet flying, Ace refused, saying, Heck, they never taught me. Get the fellows up in the air, put the stick in their hand, and bail out—they'll learn how to fly soon enough. affix our seal June 20, 1972 Martin Bancroft, w’vo went west after graduation, is now the greatest furniture designer in Hollywood. Marty makes personalized furniture for such noted persons as Margaret Jones (formerly Truman), Dagmar, and Elizabeth White. Liz White, will soon become a leading movie star. She has had parts in such great movies as The Lost Chord , Sorry, Wrong Operator , and Sleepwalker’s Insomnia Murder Case . Elizabeth’s talent was ’ discovered after Don Rickett had_her for a model for his designs. Since Elizabeth's success, Donald Rickett has become her personal dress designer. He started his studio in New York but became such a success that he left it in charge of his assistant, Hattie Carnegie, and opened a new studio in Hollywood. Gene Parker has become the greatest comedian since the De?n Martin- Jerry Lewis team. He is now making as much money as both Lewis and Martin made at their peak. Gene’s next Broadway musical will be Rocketship Named Desire . Joanne West is head nurse of the Syracuse City Hospital. She was promoted to this post as soon as the new hospital had been completed because of her bravery in rescuing all the patients while the old building was in flames. Mary Lou Wilkinson has been married for four years. At the present she has her hands full—taking care of her two-year old sextuplet boys and nursing her husband who has unaccountably been suffering from shock for two years. Evelvn LaComb last week saved the U.N. Building by her cool daring. She stayed at her post, defending her switchboard bravely, until the police came to chase away the boys who had been breaking the glass walls with pebbles flung from spring-powered sling-shots. Bob Purcell, designer of the aircraft carrier, The Chaumont , be- came the eighth living billionaire after doodling in the stock mar- ket. Unfortunately, after a physical breakdown due to her fatiguing duties as first and only girl drum majorette of the Harvard Univer- sity band, Dorothy Haas dropped out of sight. It is believed that she want to the North Woods, for recuperation, where she worked as cook in a lumber camp. From there, it is heard, she went to North- ern Alaska where she met and married a young explorer. It seems they are now somewhere in Tibet, trying to find their way down from a mountain. George Van Alstvne has become renowned throughout the nationfor his unique farm in the middle of Washington, D.C. Complete in every de- tail, his farm is located near the Library of Congress. George supplies all the food for the Senators' cafeteria in the Capitol. As for our bashful boy, Kent Horton, he is doing pretty well for himself. Having made a fortune in oil, he travels only in the wealthiest circles, spending his winters in the Bahamas and his sum- mers on his Long Island estate. He hopes to return to Chaumont this month and will no doubt visit Lyme Central. We’re rather proud of our classmates of 20 years ago.
