LOWE was born in Witt, Illinois on April 1, 1934- LCDR LOWE was graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and commissioned Ensign, USN, on June 7, 1957. His .first duty assignment was aboard the USS JOHN R. PIERCE IDD-7531. In June 1963, LCDR LOWE received a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Post Graduate School, Monterey. LCDR LOWE subsequently served as Executive Officer of the USS KOINER IDER 331l, Material Officer on Commander Cruiser-Destroyer Flotilla SEVEN, and then on the Technical Division Staff ofthe Special Profects Office in Washington, D.C. He has senled as Executive Officer of USS LYMAN K. SWENSON IDD-729l since April 1969. LCDR LOWE holds the following awards: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal lKoreal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. LCDR LOWE is married to the former Edith A. Grabow of Hillsboro, Illinois. LCDR and Mrs. LOWE and their two children, a daughter and a son, live in Chula Vista, California. tex
