FLASHBACK-SEPTEMBER 12, 1986 The Lyman Hall football team defeated Maloney to land Coach Phil Ottochian his 100th career victory. This mark incited the other fall sports teams to start their seasons with the same intensity. The field hockey team had its best season in a number of years under veterean Coach Phyllis McQueeney. Lack of participants caused the girl’s swim team to struggle through their season, but the bond between the teammates was one of great spirit and unity. The cross country squads discovered the winning feeling behind freshman sensation Jessica Cosko. Under Coach Bob Burghardt the girls and boys runners entered the tough Houstonic League with a new feeling of competitiveness. The volleyball team also suffered from lack of players, but again, the Trojan spirit remained prevalent among them. Perhaps the brightest stars of all the fall sports were the members of the boys' and girls’ soccer teams. The boys, under the new Coach Joe Goral, compiled a 10-6 record, good for third place in the Housy which qualified them for post-season action. The girls finished with a 10-1-3 record, second in the league. They, too, qualified for the State Tournament. 10

Remember when we, the Class of 1987, entered Lyman Hall as freshmen? The freedom we gained was much desired but also brought on a nervous anticipation to begin our new life in high school. Throughout our four years here, we have outgrown our freshmen ways and matured into responsible individuals. He have gained many new friends during our years here, and they have helped us through the tough times. These friends provided great memories that will last the rest of our lives. Their support was a guiding force behind our success and happiness during our four years at Lyman Hall. Although our group of friends may have changed, they have always been there for us, willing to help. Now that we have graduated from Lyman Hall and are moving on to achieve our goals, we will look back fondly on the good times we have had in high school. The friends we made will always be that, friends. Good luck to you the Class of 1987, may your dreams become reality. 12
