It will not merely be his considerable accomplishments for which Mr. Flaws will be remembered, nor will he be remembered just as the chairman of the Art Department and as a dedicated teacher at Lyman Hall for twenty-three years. Mr. Flaws will live in our memories as a man who captured the love of everyone he met and as one who gave more than his share of love in return. He was a caring, humor-filled man who provided those around him with an air of “country optimism” that brightened many of our days at Lyman Hall. 42 SENIOR DAY 44 SENIOR DAY SENIOR DAY 45 CLASS OF ’82 The years are over High school is done The music, the laughter The joys and the fun The football games, the pep rallies Are gone forever But the memories linger To be forgotten? Never! The times we shared ... e etched in our hearts The play called “Lyman Hall In which we each had a part The drama and comedy The smiles and tears The pain, the sadness The insecurities and fears We had some hard times But more good than bad And now that it’s over We can only be glad That we stuck together And fought as one Forgot all the pain And remembered the fun And when we leave We will always hold dear The memories of those Who can no longer share In the dreams of the future Thoughts of the past Our hearts will ache For what did not last But now it is time For us to part To journey through life To make a new start And we will survive Like we always do Cuz we’re gonna make it The class of ’82. Catrona 123 The Nursery School is a part of the Child Development class which is part of the Home Economics curriculum at Lyman Hall. Along with other important aspects of child development each student in the class is responsible for scheduling a days activities for the Nursery School. The school consists of 20 pre-school children who are brought to Lyman Hall by their parents for 2Vz hours of organized crafts and games as well as a story time and planned lesson. The Nursery School is a valuable hands on experience which gives Lyman Hall students a great deal of experience in the field of child care and development. A.F.S. Front Row: C. Farrell, C. Parks, K. It is, therefore, with a warm feeling of friendship for you, and also pride in your many substantial accomplishments, that I extend to you the congratulations of your high school. I am confident, that you are leaving Lyman Hall High School with a substantial foundation upon which to achieve some measure of excellence in this society. Bear in mind, that the path to success requires substantial effort, perseverance and self-sacrifice and the road to mediocrity requires very little. In closing, I extend to each of you best wishes for a happy, healthful and successful future. I hope that you are able to look back at your high school years with many fond memories. Students have matured and with their growth, shared many new experiences. During the year, new friendships were made and old ones strengthened. This year gave seniors a chance to analyze the direction in which their futures were headed, while they still had time to enjoy life. Just as our summers pass so does high school. We should combine memories of the past and hopes of the future with the present. Remember, we live in reality, not in the idealizations of remembrances. We have laughed, cried, dreamed and loved, yet somehow, we find ourselves no longer the children we once were. We realize the lollipops are all gone and the scraped knees healed. The images of childhood have become an integral part of the mirage we call memories. We have lost our childhood and are stepping into adulthood uncertain of what it holds for us. We all seem to say “It seems just like yesterday ..Yesterday ... when we were small mom and dad held our hands. We lived in a world of fantasy dreaming of growing up and going to high school. But what was fantasy then is reality now. Each and every day has something in store for us. We must take advantage of our limited time now because tomorrow will soon become yesterday. If we stop, look and listen, today, will take on new dimensions and we won’t regret moving on to the future. Today the images are clear, indelibly imprinted on our minds, yet the future easily fades into the past and becomes a memory. Fun times, unique time will become lost times unless they achieve immortality between the covers of a book. Some people say yearbooks can make time stand still. They can? Ten years from now, we will realize the uncertainty of today will become the foundation of tomorrow. AUTHOR UNKNOWN BOOSTERS Tom. I’ll always remember you K.D. Squig we love Ya. The Squig Tones Ed.
