Dear Friends, The time has come for us to leave Lyman Hall. Our four years have ended and we must now move on to new beginnings. We have shared many experiences together: both good and bad, and we have grown from all of them. We have laughed and cried, played and cheered, loved and lost, and we will never forget. Lyman Hall has become part of us. We have given much of ourselves, and in return Lyman Hall has given us a priceless gift — our friends. May God Bless All — Be Happy, Brenda, Lyvia, Anna, Jill ★ .sen lor tied icat ion ★ VINCENT L. INGLESE We, the Class of 1980, dedicate our yearbook to Vincent L. Inglese who has played a vital role in the development and continuance of the true “spirit” of our school since first coming to Lyman Hall in 1962. Mr. Inglese is a family man, a sports’ enthusiast, a good administrator and a fine human being who takes a great deal of pride in his position, his school and his community. Mr. Inglese takes his job as an educator very seriously, and he finds it to be “a most challenging and rewarding experience.” As principal of Lyman Hall, his major responsibilities are “to provide leadership necessary for the adoption of programs and procedures that meet the needs of students; to evaluate programs and staff so as to effect continued improvement; to administer Lyman Hall’s budget allocations; to interpret and supplement Board of Education policies and regulations related to our school; and, to develop and implement a program of public relations which assists the community in understanding the school’s educational program.” What this all amounts to is that Mr. Inglese is a man who cares about people and their individual needs. “Today,” Mr. Inglese says, “we are living in an era in which no person can afford not to be educated” because “the penalties for ignorance in today’s society are so severe.” Therefore, he encourages all people, regardless of age or background, to take advantage of the educational opportunities available to them. We, the Class of 1980, want to thank you for caring. CHARISE ANN ABATE “Charise” Parallel our sites and we will find that we. we need to be where we belong. GAGNE March 20,1962-January 16,1979 To the Class of 1980, In Don’s words, “You’re the best class Lyman Hall ever had.” You are a very special group. You’re very close and loyal to each other. You have shown us in so many ways why Don felt the way he did about you. Don loved Lyman Hall and because of you, he will be remembered in Lyman Hall for years to come. We will always be grateful to you for all you have done for Don and his family. Through the years Don made real friends at Lyman Hall. The kind of friends very few people ever have. These friends have become our friends, some of you a real part of our family. You have given us so much. You have always been there when we have needed you. We have shared many good times as well as the bad. Our love will be with you forever. May you all enter the world ahead of you with the same great enthusiasm and loyalty you have shown in the past. We wish all of you the very best of luck and happiness in the years to come. The Gagne Family 58 PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE TO THE CLASS OF 1980 Ladies and gentlemen of the Class of 1980, each person has his favorites: foods, forms of entertainment, people, etc. Your class certainly has been my favorite. That feeling on my part has a great deal to do with your expression of support for me during that period when plans had been formulated to transfer me from Lyman Hall. In fact, that support from you, your parents, and the school staff has been a personal high point for me in my professional career. Frankly, I was happily surprised by your degree of support. It really is great to be wanted. In addition, your dedication of your yearbook to me has lifted my spirit further, at a time when it needed lifting. Thank you very much for that distinct honor. Many of my experiences with you, discussions, coffee klatches, planning sessions and the like, added to my special feeling for you, because nearly all of you revealed exceptional humanistic qualities of wanting to work toward the improvement of conditions for others, in and outside of the school environment. You have made me very proud of you, and I encourage your continuation of such thoughts and activities of altruism. This kind of activity is at least part of the test which proves that you have been a successful learner. I know that I speak for all of your teachers in extending to you deep gratitude for sharing your high school years with us, and at the same time, you are urged to show your gratitude for your education to your parents and to Wallingford by remembering that you are Lyman Hall's and Wallingford's representatives no matter where your future takes you. Best wishes for happiness and success! Vincent L. Inglese VINCENT L. INGLESE — PRINCIPAL SEAN M. MEEHAN — ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL DALE A. WILSON — ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL JOHN J.
