IN MEMORIAM LILLIAN NANCY REID For she has joined the choir invisible Of those immortal dead who live again In minds made better by their presence,-Live in pulses stirred to generosity. In deeds of daring rectitude, in scorn For miserable aims that end with self. In thoughts sublime that pierce the night like stars. And with their mild persistence urge man's search To vaster issues. George Eliot Teachers and students of Lyman Hall High School were saddened by the tragic death of Lillian Nancy Reid, on December twenty-ninth. Coming to Lyman Hall as a teacher of Biology in nineteen twenty-nine. Miss Reid became Chairman of the Social Studies Department in nineteen forty-three. Upon the opening of the new Lyman Hall in nineteen fifty-eight, she chose to remain at the Robert Earley Junior High School. On all of us fortunate enough to have been her students. Miss Reid has left a lasting imprint. Her spirit lives on in the flame that she kindled in our minds and our hearts.
