sma DEDICATION II J .ll To Mr. Humberto Mireles whose dedication and responsibility have challeng-ed the students to seek for a higher education. He graduated from High School at L. P. I. in 1962, then he went to the University of Texas at El Paso and graduated with a B. A. Degree in 1966 and M. A. in May 1969. He was born in Chihuahua, Chih, March 15, 1942. Mr. Mireles likes to swim, read books and plays the piano. To me teaching is not an act of giving knowledge to a person just per se, but it is a more important function. To me, making the student recognize his own potentialities has more importance than producing minds with just vain facts. A good method is not to reach the stu- dent, or to give him the knowledge that he needs on a silver platter, but rather to inspire him to seek knowledge for himself that will later- help him become a better citizen and a useful person to society.
