Blumer 12 LYCOMINO COLLEGE WILLIAMSPORT, PA I7y01 Dear Lycoming Students: As you read this book, perhaps decades after these pages were printed and these pictures were photographed, other images which have lain buried deep in your memories for years will come to life again. My guess is that you will laugh to your- self as you recall your days at Lycoming College. At least you will smile about the mixture of joy and disappointment in events which seemed so important then and so remote now. The human predicament hasn ' t really changed since your college years, not even since the stone age. We have always been impaled on the horns of a dilemma, haunted by our mortality on the one hand and attracted by an unknown and exciting future on the other. Laughter, soul deep laughter, is the most profound response humans ever make to this human predicament. Such laughter is the echo of prayer. We can be grateful that for us, you and I at least, this laughter resonates from our experiences here at Lycoming College, here in these pages. These have been very human days we ' ve had together.
