THE PRESIDENT To the Class of 1965 It was almost four years ago that you began what seemed to be a long road toward graduation. The way climbed steadily upward and there were times when the journey was difficult. But today you have arrived. This is the moment of achievement of which you have had many dreams. It is good to be here. Good because you can look back over a pathway of mingled failure and success. Good because you have made new friends along the way. Good because you have explored out-of-the-way places. Good because your entire quest has been rewarded at last. From this lofty vantage point I hope that you will see new opportunities stretching out before you. This is not the end of the road — it is only a turning. And if your education in the liberal arts has done nothing more than to set you free to learn and to grow, you will have had an abundant return on your investment. Education must always be seen as a life-long proposition. So — I com- mend you upon your progress to date and I encourage you to continue the search. There are still new fields to be won. Very sincerely, D. FREDERICK WERTZ President
