in memoriam One of the most sorrowful moments on the campus of Lycoming College was felt early lost sum- mer when news reached us of the death of John A. Streeter. After obtaining both a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts Degree in economics, commerce, and finance, from the Pennsylvania State University, Mr. Streeter came to the Lycoming College faculty as a member of the Business Department in 1946. An Associate Professor, he was named head of the Business Division shortly preceding his death. Students and faculty members alike admired his keen intelligence in his field and envied his quick wit and subtle humor both in and out of the class- room. In behalf of everyone at Lycoming, the ARROW staff wishes to extend deepest sympathy to Mr. Streeter ' s family and friends and to express admiration for a man they knew and loved.

foreword The purpose of this yearbook is to bring to its readers a story of Lycoming College in word and picture. The editors of the book have en- deavored to do this by dividing the book itself into three sections, namely these: The College, The Activities, and The Campus Life. In the first are found the President ' s Message, a re- sume of the curriculum of the college illustrated by means of appropriate pictures, and individual shots of the faculty, administration, and senior class, along with group pictures of the other classes. The second section is made up of the regular campus activities, which includes clubs, organi- zations, and fraternities. The last part is concerned with sports and the incidental things which go on at college that help to make it a wonderful place in which to be. In this edition of THE ARROW, it is the sincere desire of the staff to present Lycoming as it is today; therefore, we present this ARROW of 1955 as a permanent record of life at Lyco.
