If we had known you less we would not grieve Seeing the year its course has nearly run. We would be glad our task Is almost done. Glad for the bit of rest we shall receive. It would not trouble us to see you leave; And, walking through the halls class- rooms where We meet so often now, their emptiness Would not oppress us when you are not there. It would not matter much; We would not care;— If we had known you less. But we have watched your minds hearts grow strong. Pitted against the problems of the hour; And we have felt a deep, upwelling power. As, like a mighty wave, you surge along Into the future, where your lives belong,— The radiant future, where your dreams will grow And flower and fruit upon some distant shore. John Holsen John Rath For the past nine years Mr. John Holsen has been serving as Senior High Principal at Liwerne High School. He received a B. A. degree from Con- cordia and a M. A. degree from the University of Minnesota. Mr. John Rath has received a B. S. degree from General Beadle and a M. S. from South Dakota State. He has served as Junior High Principal of Luverne High School for the past three years. As the superintendent of Independent School Dis- trict 670, Harvey Eitreim has become a well-known and necessary part of the educational machinery of LHS. Mr, Eitreim received his Bachelor's Degree in science from Augustana College, his Master's from South Dakota State, and did graduate work at the University of South Dakota. Working co-operatively with Mr. Eitreim for the benefit of our school are the men of our school board. One of the most import- ant issues handled in 1963 by Mr. Eitreim and the school board was that of a school bond. This bond was voted on by the votars of District 670, and was accepted minus a proposed swimming pool. The bond will finance a new addition to LHS. Board of Education Mort Skewes, Albert Goehie, Elmer Piepgras, A1 Bot, 0. M. Lippi, Curtis Laudon, Ernest Hamann, and Harvey Eitreim.
