,xf Miss Irmgard Koch, head of the English depart- ment, is one of the most interesting and inspiring teachers at Lutheran North. She has a most ad- mirable teaching record. She has taught everything from freshman English to Advanced Composition for seniors. Her versatility is diliicult to match. She has always gone out of her way to help her students learn by giving that little bit of extra effort that is needed. In the classroom, Miss Koch applies herself to interesting the students. She provides a new insight to the Held of English. By always seeking new ways and methods of teaching, she keeps her classes both interesting and educational. Because of her broad background with books, she is an authority on al- most any book a student wishes to read and is constantly recommending new books for her stu- dents. When she tells about a book, she makes it seem to come alive so that the students really want to read it. Besides teaching, Miss Koch, is also the faculty consultant for the Penorama, and was the sponsor of the Book Discussion Club. It is because of her loyalty and devotion to the Held of English and the giving of herself to her students, that the 1967 CRUSADER is dedicated to Miss Koch,
