Seeing a procedure that had been only discussed before gave the students insight and understanding. Mrs. Filchak kept an eye on her girls but they were left on their own to assist with actual surgeries. Scrubbing, circulating and follow, plus a care plan made them more aware of the human anatomy and disease processes. After surgery, Cathy Booth helps transfer the patient to the cart.

Seeing patients with conditions discussed in class, then Watching them improve, certainly made a difference in the following Weeks. Who could forget those by-pass surgeries? By the end of the eight Weeks, cardio suddenly seemed alot less frightening. 23
