MISS VIRGINLA WILLIAMSON, R.N., B.s., M.s. Miss Williamson returned in May as the school'S Educational Director. She received her Masters and Bachelors degrees from Indiana University. Holding this same position from 1961 to 1965, she proved she has a genuine interest in the hospital, nursing educa- tion in general, as well as each student nurse who enters the profession. Mrs. Filion, our director of nursing since 1960, has devoted countless hours, time, and energy toward in- tensifying our educational pro- gram, instilling in us the high ideals of nursing, as well as being acutely aware of our problems and extra-curricular activities. Under her guidance, the school in 1963, received full accreditation from the National League of Nursing. To Mrs. Filion who left for Washington in Feb- ruary we owe our deepest gratitude and wish her success in her new endeavor. XT! capri?

During Fire Prevention Week, he conducted fire drills and aided each hospital unit in improving their fire drill plan and their eificiency. 8 MR. EDGAR C. KRUSE, Administrator Mr. Kruse, administrator of our hos- pital, carries out his work showing his sincere interest, devotion and cheerful willingness. This year especially he has worked even more closely with the students to solve our problems and help us to become good nurses and-better citizens. F ocus on Family A variety of activities, interests, and responsibilities occupy the spare time of our faculty members. Faculty meetings are held periodically, and many standing and special committees have been formed to improve the welfare of the students and the quality of our education. Several instructors have done postgraduate work. Many have responsibilities in church and community groups. Their hobbies range from the adventure of camping and hunting to the delicate art of watch repair. Most are mem- bers of their own professional organizations, while Miss Nordholm, Miss Hensler, Mrs. Ehrman, and Mrs. Harley hold district offices or chairmanships in theirs, and Miss Hensler and Mr. Butz have duties in state organizations. MRS. KAREN BERRY, R.N., joined the faculty this year to teach maternity nursing. She received her B.S.N. from the University of Michigan. She is on the Incidence Committee, and is secretary of the faculty. Sewing, reading, and sports are among her special interests. MRS. MARGARET BOOZEL, R.N., came to us this year from Meadville City Hospital School of Nursing. She graduated from Hamot Hospital School of Nursing and received her B.S. from Barrington College. She is a member of the Library Committee, secretary of the Ad- missions and Promotions Committee, and teaches funda- mentals. A graduate of Lutheran Hospital, MISS JOYCE BUTTS, R.N., has taught one year at L.H.S.N. in the fundamen- tals department. She is on the Incidence Committee and enjoys bowling, sewing, and music. She recently vaca- tioned at Word of Life Camp, Scroon Lake, New York. MR. E. DAN BUTZ, has taught pharmacology at L.H.S.N. for thirteen years. He received his B.S. in pharmacy from Purdue University, He is a hospital administrative assist- ant, director of the hospital pharmacy, and president of the Indiana Society of Hospital Pharmacy. He enjoys Collecting antiques. isa: AN INFORMAL CONFERENCE is held by Mrs. Boozel, Mrs. Badgley, Mrs. Spencer, and Miss Butts. The fundamentals of nursing department was headed this year by MRS. JANE BADGLEY, R.N., who finished her seventh year at L.H.S.N. She is a graduate of St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing in Cleveland, and received her B.S.N. from St. Francis College. She is a member of the Procedure Committee. Recovery room nursing, fluid and electrolyte balance, and conditions of the ear were taught this year by MISS RUTH BECKMAN, R.N., who is a graduate of Lutheran. She is a member of the Student Welfare Committee, chairman of the Capping Committee, and advisor of the freshman class. She enjoys playing the piano and organ. Z' I0
