Reassurance and constant observation
are most essential to the mother who is
Three months of the senior year are spent
in the area of maternity nursing. In this field
ot nursing lies one ot the greatest opportuni-
ties for the student in patient education. She
teaches the new mother the fundamentals
of pre- and post-natal care and the care of
the infant. One month of experience is pro-
vided in each ot these areas: labor and deli-

Freshmen students spend sixteen
weeks in the study of the principles
of normal nutrition with considera-
tions given to various aspects of food
selection and preparation. The sci-
ence of nutrition consists of the
knowledge of utilizing diets, of food
composition, and of dietary constitu-
ency. The arl of nutrition is applied
in laboratory work which consists of
the preparation of foods for normal
and special diets.
