Keeping the student body happy and well informed about the school is the pur- pose of the student council. They achieve their purpose by working together in plan- ning assemblies, improving conditions at school, and working with the faculty to help make Lutheran West a more closely knit unit. Officers are elected by the entire stu- dent body each May. The constitution, drafted during the summer of '58, makes provisions for council members and their duties . Sfudenf C ourf Student Court is a new group at our school. Student control came into being this past year. Seniors and student coun- cil members are in charge of the program. In the Bible we are told to be our brother's keeper. With this thought in mind, stu- dent control began. If our fellow student acts contrary to the rules, it is up to us to talk to him. White slips are given to the offenders. and this court hears the case. They council with the person, all in the spirit of helping him lead a Godly life . The purpose of the paper is to acquaint the stu- dent with the happenings of the school. There are stories which are of a very serious nature, and there are also Stories which are for amusement. Editorials and sports are a favorite with the students. We thank the staff for the fine job they have done on the paper this past year This is what we call a real typist at work. Wou1dn't you?
