CHRISTIAN DABERKOW Teaching religion is one of the duties that Mr. Da- berkow has un- dertaken dur- ing his many years here at Lutheran. He received his Master of Sci- ence degree at Indiana University. He helps students to gain a better understanding of their Bible and the history of their church by render- ing his services in teaching Religion l,lI, and Ill. In addition to teaching religion, Mr. Da- berkow makes it possible for students to be able to speak or, at least understand, a foreign language, as he also teaches German I and II. This is the first year that he has taught at Lutheran. At our school he is teaching typing. Typing is a course which is valuable for both the business major and also for the student pre- paring for college. Much practice is given to the student so that he will gain both speed and accuracy. Mr. Ensworth has been very faithful, and his students have shown great progress. F aculiy CLARENCE HINZ One of the hardest working and fun loving teachers is Mr. Hinz. He graduated from Con- cordia, River Forest, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree. General Science, Biology, and Freshmen Religion are taught by him. A general look into the broad field of sci- ence is the main purpose of General Science. Biology enables the student to learn more about the plant and animal kingdoms. The students see how fear- derfully their bodies have been made. Mr. I-linz has also worked very hard with the Code Committee. His senior homeroom has shown much ship. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Pratt Institute. At Columbia University she received a Masters of Arts degree. Miss Huegler is teaching Home Economics at our school. Sewing, cooking, child care, and interior decorating are some of the units included in this course. Our modem home economics de- partment en- ables girls to learn to be efficient home- makers. Eight new sewing machines have been purchased. Miss Huegler is truly a won- derful teacher. S.

F aculfy ION ANDERSON For ten years, Mr. Jon Anderson has taught at Lutheran High. He received his Bachelor of Science degree at Ohio University, Athens, O- hio. Mr. Anderson teaches Shop l,Il,Ill, and Mechanical Drawing l,ll. Shop enables the student to learn to work with his hands. Lutheran's new shop depart- ment provides different kinds of equipment to develop the boys' talents in wood, metal, and plastic. Mechanical Drawing helps the student gain perspec- tive in archi- tectural draw- ing. ARDIS BEC KM AN Our new librarian this year is Miss Beckman. She received her Bachelor of Science degree at Mankato State College. This year she is our school librarian and in charge of study halls. She also has a senior homeroom. Last summer Miss Beckman worked very hard at planning for the new library. All new books had to be purchased, and this required much work. After moving 3-H? into the new time was s spent at get- ting the li- brary ready for use. JOHN KATT i One of the most tal- ented facul- ty members is Mr. Katt. He received a Bachelor of Arts de- gree from Concordia Seminary. He also re- ceived a Bachelor of Science degree from Kent State U. This year he is teaching Band, Orches- tra, and Doctrine. Our wonderful Band and Orchestra is a result of the hard work of Mr. Katt. He helps the stu- dents to develop into real musicians. Each spring a concert is held to display their accom- plishments. Much hard work and patience is dis- played by Mr. Katt. This is the first year that he is teaching Doctrine. His method of presen- tation makes learning a real pleasure. He is a very conscientious worker. ARNOLD LEHMANN A very good musician is Mr. Lehmann. He Bachelor of Arts degree from North Western. A Master's de- gree was re- ceived from . Wisconsin U. He is an instructor in choral music and Latin this year. Mr. Lehmann works very hard with the fresh- men and sophomores preparing them for the choir In freshmen music , church liturgy, a symphony, and methods of singing are studied. F aculfy JULIUS LORKO A teacher with a sense of humor is Mr. Lor- ko. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Valparaiso University. Shorthand, Bookkeeping, Business Law, General Business, and Office Prac- tice are taught by him. Mr. Lorko seems to know everything which is going on.
