the athletically inclined and those not cc- ordinated, both find gym a favorite subject our esteemed principalmr, freitag, has done so much in making our under miss frankensteins guidance. and all school successful. through his time and talents, lurheran high has find before a year is through, there exists nz become the great and deeply loved school which it is today. such word as can't! facult the talents cf our head basketball and baseball coach are clearly evident in the fine teams which mr. dcering has produced. being chairman cf the physical education depart- ment, the able training many received has been through his efforts. 4 the bookstore and lan- guage department are both run with equal smoothness under mr. lautenschlager. he has helped many a struggling language stu- dent through difficult cone jugations and translations. his students aren't likely to forget his help. the math department is run with all the precision and exactness such classes re' quire, under the chairman- ship of mr. graef. his in- terest in each and every student makes him the good and well-meaning teacher he is. as chairman of the art department and also advisor to paw prints, mr. brcmnfier shows initiative as well as talent in all his classes. he teaches with a collegiate air about him giving his students an in- teresting as well as informative instruc- tion.

with his unexpected comments, mr. zehnder humorously as well as cap- ably instructs all his classes. as chair- man of the music department and also member of the advisory board, he proves that he truly is a teacher in good standing, among colleagues and students alike. the striking figure of mr. oetting, reli- gion and general business teacher, is quite familiar S although new - this year. all his students, as well as the football varsity, know him to be the sincere and devoted man which he really is. a member of the advisory board is but one of the many duties of our new attendance counselor, mr, ebel. with tactfulness and originality, he has be- come well-liked by all. Ah his smile and sincere friendliness to all, make mr. kupke a popular figure around campus, no more capable man could have been chosen to fulfill the chairmanship of the religion depart- ment. mr. bullinger is our general science and biology instructor. his warm and friendly personality is not only present in himself, he also carries it over to his students and into all of his classes daily. mrs. beck, school secretary, and our business man- ager, mrs. dierker, are familiar and welcome peo- ple in our school office. it is to these two women to whom much of the efficiency of the school can be accredited.
