Debbie Moore, Julie Savage, Jeri Rinne, Sarah Kufahl, Lisa Dieck- hoff, Coach Lee Rudzinski 1985 was the breakthrough year for the varsity girls volleyball team. After two straight years of finishing second in the district to Englewood, Lutheran beat thel for their first district championship ever. The girls advanced to sectionals before losing to the eventual state champions, Santa Fe. Despite the loss, it was Lutheran's finest season ever. They finished the year with a I9-2 record and were conference co-champions. They also won the Engle- wood and Barstow Tournaments. Marnie Ludwig, Julie Savage, and Jeri Rinne were se- lected to the All-Conference First Tean. Sarah Kufahl and Tahni Brewer nade the Second Team.
