I 4 7 ,J ef ,Q :fa 'ze 20 JUST A NOTE ' Julie Kerestes ' One of the most joyous sounds in this world is the sound of music. It may vary from classical to rock, country to the blues, and jazz to songs of praise. The choir at Luth- eran High School best describes the last category. T Under the direction of Miss Burch I the choir practiced for many per- . year. formances throughout the school During the first semester, much of their time was aimed toward the Christmas Concert. This annual was held on Saturday, December 18, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.' The theme to the concert was nHark the Glad Soundu, and such a glad sound it was. Also during the first semester the choir sang on Sunday mornings at many Lutheran churches. As like the first semester, the second semester was aimed toward the annual Spring Concert. This year's concert was held on May 7th and 8th at Lutheran High School. Also during second semester was the Con- ference Festival. This is where all the choirs in the Trailblazer conference get together and form a mass choir. The Lutheran High Choir has brought joy to many nursing homes and churches throughout the year. They have showed great talent and are appreciated by everyone who hears them. event

MAKE YEARBOOK YOUR BOOK Tim Payne You never know where they'll turn up. They're out on the streets selling ads, they're in the classroom working on layouts, or they're wandering the halls selling candybars. It's a bird...it's a plane...no, it's a yearbook staff member. Again this year, the Lutheran High School yearbook staff worked together to create an exceptional annual under the leadership of advisor Mrs. Uram, and editor Beth Mannino. The staff teamed up with Taylor Publishing Com- pany and their representative Lisa Stafford to produce this years' book In addition to the students that worked on carefully planned layouts, there were others who spent time during and after school, selling candybars to raise extra money for the class. The regular yearbook staff includes: Julie Kerestes, Beth Mannino, Lorraine Klinger, Becky Galster, Sue Meyer, David Manley, Tim Payne, Valerie Allman, Rob Davidson, and Steve Swanson. The students who helped raise extra money were: Chad Brazle, Mark Weidner, Cindy Latzke, Brian Meyer, Kris Morse, and Teresa Powers. Although most of the staff was inexperienced at the beginning of the year, they were eager to learn and soon showed the savvy of seasoned staff members. Q :fLfQ:Ql Q .. These are words that well describe the members of Ladies Auxiliary. The hard work describes all the time and labor put into the Holiday Ba- zaar and the Crusaders Thrift Shop. These fund raisers show much deter- mination to help Lutheran High School with their debt. The 1982-83 Holiday Bazaar was held on November 13, and showed great profit. The ladies put many hours into the making of food and crafts. These products were sold along with donations from churches and families, and the profits were well worth the effort. Another money maker, also being a service, is the Crusader Thrift Shop. This Ugarage-salen type of organization helps the community along with provid- ing work study grants for students of Lutheran High School. Retail items. are sold at the Crusader Thrift - Shop and the profits go to the school. The products sold are all donated from the staff and friends of L.H.S. Although these are important fund raisers, the Ladies Auxiliary helps L.H.S. in another way. Every Thursday, the women serve lunch to the and falculty of L.H.S. These include such menus as tacos, spagetti, lasagna, hamburgers, and chicken sand- wiches. The women make these lunches and are sometimes taken for granted by the students. The ladies put in their time for the benefit of the school. Thank-you ladies for what you've done and keep up the good work! 21 CRUSADER AIDERS Rob Davidson Crusader aiders to the rescue!
