TALENTED PEOPLE Julie Kerestes Talent...one of God's many gifts to us. The ability to show these talents is a talent in itself. A select group of students at Lutheran High School have the ability to show their talents in the art and journalism fields. In order to recognize excellence in these fields, the National Art Honor Society and Quill and Scroll have been established On Friday, February 25, three new s- members were added to these societies. Shawn Reid and Bruce Barnu were inducted into National Art Honor Society, while Beth Mannino was inducted into Quill and Scroll. Beth is now the only member of Quill and Scroll, where Bruce and Shawn joined Debby Walker, Julie Ker- estes, Sandy Kufahl, and Neal Rhodes in Lutheran High School's chapter of National Art Honor Society. 1 HONORED SOCIETY I Beth Mannino Learning to bring out the best in yourself and others combine to make- up the characteristics necessary to become a member of the National Honor Society. Among these characteristics are the desire to excel scholastically 0 N by setting goals, developing morals, hard work and determination. Membership is based on acedamic success, leadership, truth, loyalty, initiative, judgement and friendship. Selected students who posses these qualities are inducted annually at a candlelight ceremony. This year, the induction was held on February 25, and seven new members joined the four existing members. These new members were: seniors, John Childress, Lisa Robertson, and Todd Wilson, and juniors Bonnie Hennigz Kristy Iverson, Julie Kerestes and Beth Mannino. HOW GREAT'S TRY ART Kurt Elling The artistic endeavors of talented LHS in several talent competitions throughout students were displayed the year. Their art work proved once again their ability to compete with schools much larger and much better equipped than LHS. The many awards given to these students are a tribute to their wise use of God given talents.
