HAVE GAVEL WILL TRAVEL Rob Davidson One might ask, nwhat more can such an unbelievable, stupendous, titanic, dazzling, noble, brave, honest, good- looking, and modest organization do than they have done in the past?n A lot! After all, lets remember the famous words used by President Carter in an address to the National Institute-for the Chronically Academic. He stated n...in these days of trying times, one must lock to the true organiza- tions, those which are undervalued, overworked, and fun-loving.n I'm pretty sure these were his words, but what the heck, we know he was referring to the LHS Student Coun- cil. Yes, one should realize that much was done and much will be done.. Behind the direction of President Tom Wachter and advisor Mr. Dale Wolfgram, the Student Council has brought us many activities such as the new student get-together, bon- fire, movie nights, and our ever famous dances. The Student Council is the gov- erning body of students that arrang- es various activities. 3 8

PEP CLUB IS FANTASTIC I Lorraine Klinger b Where does that school spirit come from? Whose responsible for getting Lutheran High all pepped up for the 'Big Game?' Don't you know it's Pep Club. You say you want to know more, like who is in it, and what does Pep-Club do? Pep Club is just what it sounds like, a group of students that want to add a little thrill to the school. It's a place to make friends and then go to all those wild football and bas- ketball games. Pep Club always plans a couple of suprises for the school during homecoming week. Among these suprises were an ice cream eating contest, and three legged races. They also made the banner the guys bombard through on home games. Who helps run this group of explo- sive students2 Miss Erhardt is the ad- visor and the group officers are Pres- idents Jerry Cazaniga, Vice-president: Chris Mueller, Secretary: Tracy Oellig 5 and Treasurer: Bonnie Henning. THATS THE WAY THE BALL BOUNCES David Manley The ball didn't exactly bounce their way. With a 3-23 record, the varsity basketball team was plagued by fouls, bad defense and a slow offense through-- out the season. In the first game of the season, four out of the five starters fouled out in the last quarter. They lost that game to Winnebago 38 to 91. In their first win, the LHS basketball team dominated Alden Hebron from the tip- off and this dominance continued to the final quarter, for a 73 to 49 final score. The other two wins were the 52 to 45 win over Byron and the 68 to 66 win over North gow Boone. Both these games ended in a thrill- fl ,ng ing second effort try which won the game. nfglf' A thanks to all the fans for coming to R 455 the games and supporting the LHS Crusadrs K g Basketball Team. bg XQNC. s rf' sixty A No W 13313.
