MUSIC - The Christmas program this year was a great success. The entire school had something to do with it. The lower grades sponsored the rhythm band and the Christmas play while the Iunior High girls'trio sang two numbers. At the close of the operetta the high school girls' sextette sang three songs' Leota Iokmson sang the solo O Holy Night , and the high school mixed chorus, directed by Miss Bricker with Norene McVay at the piano, sang some songs- -one of which included five echos Jane Morrow, Ruth Brundage Helen Henderson Bob Blomgren and Donald Seaton Two days before the Christmas program the mixed chorus went caroling around the city of Luther Afterwards a delicious lunch was engoyed by all They wish to give their thanks to Mrs Morrow, Mrs McFarlard and Mrs Seaton, who prepared the lunch The boys quartette a very popular group, have done quite a few of the old favorites So far this year they have sung at both of the churches c ass plays a bridal shower the Farmer Co'op meeting, Farm Bureau and assemblies The quartette consists of Lester Gates lst tenor Bob Blomgren 2nd tenor Lyle Hurley baritone Donald Seaton bass The following students will represent the Luther school in the Music Contest at Roland, Iowa on April 5th and 6th Boys Quartette Lester Gates Lyle Hurley Bob Blomgren Donald Seaton Mixed Cuartette Leota Johnson Bob Blomgren Ruth Johnson Donald Seaton Soloists Ruth Brundage Iane Morrow Malene Severtson Bob Blomgren Leota Johnson All the students of the school wanted to have an assembly program mu sical so through the efforts of the students and Miss Bricker we managed it The entire program lasted nearly an hour The program was as follows Sweet Song of Long Ago so o Iane Morrow ' H d A Lit le Talk With The Lord Bob Blomgren soloist -Girls Quartette A Minor Concerto and 'Bo gie oogie piano solo Donald Seaton Ho La Li and 'Chopanecas Girls Glee Club Ahl Sweet Mystery of Life solo Malene Severtson g on the Fire Aura Lee S reet Urchins Medley ' Sunny Lou Boys' Glee Club Dep song Ir High and Sr High School Mixed Chorus The girls sextette, also a favorite group have done a number of songs this year for various groups and programs The sextette consists of Ruth Brund age, Charlotte Doud Malene Severtson, Jane Morrow Ruth Johnson and Leota Iohnson Velma Groomes replaced Leota Johnson in the second semester 1 f r l I !
