SUBJECTS In History this year we are studying about the government We listen to Robert St John the news commentator We have found out many interesting things about our government work through his broadcast In Engllsh we have been studylng about spllt 1I1f1I'1itiV6S and danglmg par t1c1p1es Also we have studled the tenses of verbs and letter wr1ting We are now wrlttng plays and actlng them out We don t have any Greer Garsons or Gregory Decks but we do have some pretty good actors and actresses We had Science the first semester We studied about our world and what goes on in it every day One mam topmc we stud1ed was the gases and elements We found that everyth1ng ln the world comes from the ninety six elements that The second semester we took Iowa I-hstory We stud1ed about the dfscov ery settlement, and the interesting places of Iowa We found that the Indians had a great deal to do with Iowa Our arithmetlc has been done in a hurry We were two third through our books at the end of the first semester Most of us fmd ar1thmetic lots of fun es pecially when we have speed tests Our music has been lnterestlng and we have learned to read notes We can now recognize a song without havmg the name but by Just hearing It played We've sung popular songs as well as our study songs In spelling we have learned how to spell many new words and to divide them mto syllables In Literature we have read many SIOTIGS about hobb1es, sports and home life of the early settlers I , .
